Sunday Services
The Ballymena Baptist church family meets every Sunday at 11am & 6:30pm. We would love to have you join us!
We meet at:
18-22 Mount Street
Ballymena
Antrim
BT43 6BW
Parking
There is parking available on site in the church car park. However, we ask that this is used for those who require mobility assistance. There is also plenty of car parking with less than a two minute walk to the church; Mount Street Car Park 1 and Mount Street Car Park 2 are both free to park in on a Sunday.
What to expect
You can expect a warm welcome at all of our services. In the morning, grab a cup of tea or coffee before the service starts and say hello. There's no need to go in and grab a seat until just before the service starts at 11. In the evening, tea and coffee is served after the service so no need to rush off, we'd love to welcome you and get to know you!
Once the service starts you can expect our time together to be centred on God's Word. As a church we are committed to:
Reading the Bible - We make sure in our services to carve out time for 'the public reading of Scripture' (1 Tim. 4:13), because we believe that the life and growth of the church depends on the power of God's Word.
Preaching the Bible - We are committed to Christ-centred, expository preaching as we believe that God has called us to 'preach the word' (2 Tim 4:2); both for the salvation of unbelievers, and the maturity of believers.
Praying the Bible - We make sure to spend time praying biblically, so that 'prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all people' (1 Tim. 2:1).
Singing the Bible - We also make sure that we spend time together 'addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to the Lord' with our hearts (Eph. 5:19). We seek to praise God and build one another up using a balance of old and new, yet biblically accurate songs.
Seeing the Bible - We practice the ordinances of believers baptism and the Lord's Supper (communion)*. These are the signs where we see the gospel, and our participation in the new covenant, made visible. Baptism portrays our spiritual death to sin, burial with Christ and resurrection with him to new life. The Lord's Supper is a visual reminder of Christ's work on the cross on our behalf (Luke 22:19-20).
*Communion is held every Sunday morning at the end of the morning service. Our table is open for anyone who wants to stay, but we do ask that only those who are Christians share in the bread and the wine.
Children and Youth
We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:
-
Tiny Acorns (Aged 0-1)
-
Little Oaks (Aged 1-3)
-
Tree House (Aged 3+)
-
Sunday School, during morning service (Primary 1 - 4)
Children in these groups stay with their parents until directed to leave via an announcement from the front (usually during the last song before the sermon). You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy. Parents can pick their child up after the sermon, or for babies or toddlers, they can stay with them in their respective groups.
For older children and young people (Primary 5 - Year 14) there is Sunday School and Bible Class held in the church before the service at 10.00am.
For more information about what happens in the children's work, please visit the Children's Ministry page.
