Naomi Givan
(Africa Inland Mission, Rift Valley Academy, Kijabe, Kenya)
In early August 2011, Naomi returned to Rift Valley Academy, the school she attended as pupil for three years while her parents were working with AIM in Kijabe. Until mid 2012, she will be serving as a teacher in partnership with AIM International, teaching English and History and involved in co-ordinating and overseeing the syllabus for British and non-American students in all IGCSE subjects taught at RVA.
Rift Valley Academy is a Christian boarding school, located in central Kenya. The school is a branch of AIM International and is primarily for missionary children. With over 100 years of rich history, RVA has played an instrumental role in the lives of countless MKs (missionary kids). The current student body consists of around 450 students from over 20 different nationalities. The parents of these students are serving the Lord with 80 mission organisations in 20 countries across Africa.
Naomi asks for prayer as she settles into her new surroundings, that God will use her to fulfil His plans for RVA. She asks for wisdom in balancing her dual role of teaching and managing others who are helping her implement this new curriculum. Pray for her as she seeks to counsel and be involved in pastoral care of the students under her charge.
