September 2013 brings a new chapter to our continuing
partnership with coaching 4 Christ. Our third annual Football Fun
Week back in June was a successful and hugely encouraging week
where over 100 boys and girls from p3-7 received engaging, high
quality coaching. Whilst football is clearly a strong draw the
focal point and the overriding motive is to pre- sent Christ to
lost souls. The vision cast back in 2012 involved an out reaching
sports ministry based in the church touching lives in both the
square mile and Ballee area. The Lord placed this vision on the
hearts of 4 men and following a year of training with c4C at
development centres across Ballymena, Ian Thomson, Craig Dean,
Peter Chambers and Stuart Faloon planned the start of a new
development centre here in Ballymena Baptist. Tues 17th (p4/5) and
Thursday 19th Sept (p6/7) marks a new season where we seek to coach
skills and drills with a Gospel message planted at its very core.
Competitions run every month and with parents in attendance we will
seek to build relationships and present Christ to adults. Please
pray for the boys and girls – the vast majority of whom are
outsiders to the fellowship. Pray for the parents who will bring
them along – who often stay and watch, especially on competition
days (Saturdays). Please also pray for us as coaches as we seek to
reach these families for Christ. The development centre is a new
beginning in our church fellowship and we would value your support
in prayer. For further information please see Stuart
Faloon.
