Prayer Letter No 9

Dear Praying friends,

I was reading this morning about Hezekiah in Isaiah 37:14. He received a letter and didn’t know what to do about it so he spread it out before the Lord. Can I encourage you to spread this letter out before the Lord and Pray?

September is here and we are back in full swing. There are lots going on in the coming month so let me start by telling you what will be happening.

We are gathering together the “TEAM” which is CAP Ballymena. David McCaughey will lead us, Sandra Houston will be doing Community Links, Alison Chestnut is CAP Money Ballymena, and she oversees all those doing CAP Money. John Bellingham is joining us this year in the role of fund raising, so we can do more for our clients. Terry as he does admin work for the centre. I will continue to be the Debt coach and centre manager.  Please pray for this team that we will have unity and passion for what we are doing.

SEPTEMBER

CAP Northern Ireland are running a Discovery Weekend. You have heard about Discovery Break where we take people away and bless them and get great opportunities to share our faith. This will be happening on the weekend of the 18th Sept. Friday night will be a Curry night in Ballymoney.  Saturday morning is a men’s breakfast. Saturday night is curry night in Lisburn. Sunday afternoon is a Pamper time for the ladies. We hope that some of our clients will go along to these events and hear the gospel and give their lives to the Lord.

After this events weekend, we CAP Ballymena hope to run 4 sessions with clients who are interested in learning a bit more. We will be running sessions on Anger, Worry, Forgiveness and Self –Worth.  We have sent out a questionnaire about this and Thursday seems to be the evening. We hope to invite people for tea and then run a discussion group with them. We want to share our faith as well, so please pray that we would have amazing opportunities.

I will also go to conference in September. There will be training and encouragement at this time.  During last year I went over to Bradford and trained to be a CAP speaker. I have a few bookings in for this year already.

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY

CAP Sunday will take place on the 1st November. Please come along and here what is happening in our town.

PRAYER

The work continues on with new clients coming into the centre every month. Please pray that they would continue to ring and get the help that they need. We want to bless these people and show them God’s love.

Please pray for salvation this year.

We hope to give out hampers this Christmas again. We will keep you posted and let you know when we are collecting.

Pray for the Befrienders who do the valuable work and work alongside the client. Pray that relationships would grow.

PRAISE

Two clients came to know the Lord this year. Please pray that they will get connected to the local church where they live.

Over the summer months 5 people went debt free in the Ballymena area.

I want to thank you again for taking this work to your heart and holding us up in prayer.

Yours in Christ

Val Roebuck
